After just over 35 years as a financial adviser, I decided now (Summer 2022) is the right time for me to retire. It has been a privilege to help many clients during my career since I joined the financial services industry. I had not originally intended to retire yet, but personal circumstances and the Covid-19 pandemic made me reflect on matters. Also, it is increasingly challenging running a small financial advice business due to the ever increasing regulatory and reporting burdens required by our regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority.
I came to the view that my clients will be best served in the future by becoming part of a larger firm. After an exhaustive search, I am delighted to say I have found an excellent such firm in Perspective (North East) Ltd (Perspective) who are committed to delivering personal advice from nearby local offices in Darlington and Newcastle. They fully share my values and levels of professional care, whilst having the strength of a national firm with 20 further offices across the UK.
